Management of a 300+ user 8-12th grade independent school comprising of electronic textbooks, iPad classrooms, 3D Printers, and the latest in classroom technology while working with a very small budget. Oversight of a flawless LAN and VMware server suite and fleet of classroom projectors and smart boards as well as upgrades to interactive touch displays. Continuous research for effect classroom technology has led to the revolution of an extremely traditional school.

o     Fiscally conservative but realistic – increased bandwidth from 10MB/1MB to 200MB/200MB by management of ISP contracts and engineering of core campus backbone while slashing $5,000 in annual cost.

o     Constantly under budget by up to %25 while drastically increasing technology upgrades and decreasing unnecessary spending.

o     Introduced a school with no technology in curriculum to the opportunity of 3D printing.

VoIP Engineer – Defense Engineering Inc. – Information Technology Agency of the Army – United States Pentagon, Arlington, VA

VoIP engineer responsible for operation and maintenance of Avaya AS5300 VoIP system, CS2100 VoIP system, and Cisco Unified Call Manager. Defense contract to perform migration of 40k users from CS2100 to AS5300 systems seamlessly with minimal user impact. Also responsible for engineering of crucial E-911, voicemail, teleconferencing functions. Provisions 500 to 1000 users daily and provides hands-on training and assistance to 200 – 300 users. Manages Remedy trouble tickets related to migration issues and resolves 15-20 per shift.                                                                                                                     

 

Network Administrator-Supervisor – U.S. Air Force – Andrews Air Force Base, MD
January 2009 – January 2015 (Salary: $66,000)

Performed network administration duties on a day-to-day basis:  Network analysis and monitoring, ACS user management, CiscoWorks management tools, systems administration for network management servers, tracking of all communications requirements and trouble tickets through Remedy, Cisco Call Manager changes, and remote assistance for in-field desktop support, sys-admin, and network management technicians.  Engineering team lead duties were performed as needed : Cisco switch and router configuration, equipment upgrades, integration of network security assets, fiber and cable termination and installation, engineer network installs, new building installs, office/building moves, assistance with boundary equipment and firewalls, coordinated commercial installs with Verizon and AT&T. Responsible for on-the-job training and task verification for all new members.

Notable Accomplishments:

·   $5k server backup project. Veeam Deployment with 18TB disaster proof NAS. Resulted in 15 minute full recovery time.

·   $40k Network upgrade. 1000% speed increase on wired and wireless clients. Redesign saved $6,000 annually.

·   Planned and executed project to upgrade 8 layer 3 nodes to 10Gbps backbone, increasing speed and reliability of over 10k users.

·   Coordinated over 300 Authorized Service Interruptions aiding in network optimization.

·   Migrated flat Layer 2 VLAN network to a fully routed Layer 3 network, a routed network extending down to end user switches. Project relieved IP address space by 30% and decreased downtime due to broadcast storms 25%.

·   Performed all software upgrades to Network Management assets including Cisco ACS, CiscoWorks, Cisco Unified Call Manager, and GEM X Taclane Mangement.

·   Led $620k End-of-Life switch upgrade project. Upgraded 35 dated devices increasing network stability and speeds affecting 2k+ users
